Heilongjiang Art Vocational College, in the Xiangfang district of Harbin, is the province's public comprehensive arts vocational college; it was formed in 2002 from the Heilongjiang Art School, founded as a drama school in 1959, and a cultural cadre school. Its Art Design Department, which began in 1959 with stage design, offers eight programmes, including clothing and costume design, arts and crafts design and stage art design and production. Its Music Department offers a piano tuning programme that trains students in tuning and repair.
