In short

The Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Schwäbisch Gmünd is a state university of applied sciences for design. Its degree programmes include Product Design (Produktgestaltung), Interaction Design and Communication Design, with a master's in Strategic Design; product design students build models and prototypes in the school's workshops from the first semester. The school traces its roots to a drawing school founded in 1776, which in 1860 added a department for gold- and silversmiths.
