HKB – Konservierung und Restaurierung

In short

The conservation and restoration department of the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), part of the Bern University of Applied Sciences, offers a Bachelor of Arts in Conservation as the entry into the profession of conservator-restorer, followed by a master's degree. The course combines natural sciences, the humanities and manual skill; students choose a specialisation at the start: architecture and interiors (buildings, monuments, wooden furnishings and art in public space); paintings and sculpture; graphics, written records and photography (works on paper, leather, parchment, papyrus and wax); or contemporary art and media. The department is located on Fellerstrasse in Bern.
