The Höhere Lehranstalt für Mode is a five-year fashion school run by the City of Wiener Neustadt as a private school, sharing its site on Schneeberggasse with a training college for early childhood education. Students complete the Reife- und Diplomprüfung with competences in general education, practical fashion subjects with the option fashion design and graphics, marketing and process design. Practical teaching centres on production methods and making techniques, from simple pieces to complete collections with demanding materials and complex pattern solutions; fashion drawing includes fashion photography and digital image editing, and pattern construction is also done in the Grafis CAD program. In the fifth year students create their own collection as their diploma project.
