In short

The design faculty of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI) offers a Bachelor of Arts in Design with four pathways, one of which is fashion, alongside communication design, photography and image media, and digital media and experiment; admission requires an aptitude test. The fashion pathway covers fashion illustration and 3D modelling, 3D draping, material experiments, printing and dyeing, pattern construction and collection design, with art, cultural and costume history and textile studies, and includes a professional semester abroad or in a company. Students work in sewing and fabric printing workshops, and a master's in design with a fashion focus is also offered.
