In short

Geisenheim University, in the Rheingau, teaches and researches wine and beverages, food, horticulture and landscape architecture. Its programmes include bachelor's degrees in Viticulture and Oenology, International Wine Business and Beverage Technology, and master's degrees in oenology and wine business. The university was formally founded in 2013; it traces its origins to the Royal Prussian Institute for Fruit Growing and Viticulture, opened in 1872.
