Art and Design is a five-year course at the HTL Steyr, a federal technical upper secondary school whose history the school dates back to its founding in 1874. The course is divided into three specialisations, jewellery, engraving technology, and artistic blacksmithing and metal sculpture, and combines design training with hand craftsmanship; engraving covers flat engraving and stitching, lettering systems, stamps, coins and medals, and fashion jewellery and accessories. Admission requires an aptitude test, and the course ends with the Reife- und Diplomprüfung. The school is on Schlüsselhofgasse in Steyr.
