In short
Hubei Institute of Fine Arts is a higher institution of fine arts in Wuhan, with campuses at Tanhualin and Canglongdao. Its predecessor, the Wuchang Art School, was founded in 1920; after several changes the institute was established as an independent school in 1985. Its School of Handicraft Arts, formed in 2022 from the institute's craft teaching, offers bachelor's majors in ceramic art design and arts and crafts and a lacquer art track, with ceramics, lacquer, metalwork and arts and crafts laboratories; the institute also has a School of Fashion Art and a School of Industrial Design.
