In short

The Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) offers a four-year BA (Hons) in Design for Film (DL845, Level 8) for the film, television, theatre and entertainment industries, which the institute describes as the only course of its kind in Ireland. After a first year that introduces the specialisms, students choose one of four pathways, including costume design, which covers fabric selection, garment construction and work with directors and performers, character make-up design and model making, which teaches traditional making processes and digital fabrication for characters, props and sets.
