IES Vicente Espinel, known as Gaona, is a public secondary school in the historic centre of Málaga, created in 1846 as the Instituto Provincial de Segunda Enseñanza and housed in the former house of the Congregation of San Felipe Neri. Besides secondary education, the baccalaureate and adult education, it offers vocational training in textiles, clothing and leather: a basic cycle in upholstery and curtain-making, a dual intermediate cycle in clothing and fashion with 25 to 35 per cent of training in companies, and a new higher cycle in made-to-measure and stage costume.
