In short

The Institut Kesenian Jakarta was founded in 1970 in the Taman Ismail Marzuki arts complex on Jalan Cikini Raya in central Jakarta. In its Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, the bachelor's programme in Kriya Seni trains craftspeople and studio managers in wood, textile and ceramic craft, focusing on the making of functional objects, while the bachelor's programme in Desain Produk is devoted to fashion and clothing design, from research-based concepts and sketching to the preparation and supervision of production, with internships and fashion shows.
