The Institut Lemonnier in Caen offers general, technological, vocational, agricultural and higher-education courses. Its wood department includes a CAP in cabinet-making, focused on making furniture by hand as single pieces or in small series and on restoring period furniture, and the Brevet National des Métiers d'Art in cabinet-making, for furniture, 'object' furniture and high-end fittings.
