In short
The Institut Myriam is a private Catholic school in Toulouse under contract with the State, placed under the guardianship of the Daughters of Charity, combining a vocational and technological lycée, an apprenticeship unit and a continuing-education centre. On its La Cadène site, which houses the sewing workshops, it teaches fashion and clothing: the CAP in fashion (flou garments, also by apprenticeship and for adults), the bac pro in sewing and garment making, the DTMS in costume techniques for the performing arts and the BTS in fashion and clothing, which trains pattern makers and product developers. According to the school's history, it grew out of a sewing and embroidery workroom set up at 20 rue Mage after 1905 and was officially recognised as a technical school in 1948; it also offers courses in commerce, hospitality, tourism and care.
