The Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts of Sfax (ISAMS) is a public institution of the University of Sfax, created by law in 1995 and housed in historic buildings on Avenue du 5 Août in the city centre, formerly home to the École des Beaux-Arts de Sfax. It has departments of fine arts, design and audiovisual technologies; the product design degree has tracks in industrial creation, clothing (pattern-making and styling), furniture and textiles, and the fine arts degree includes ceramics, mosaic and weaving. Teaching is based on studio work, and the institute states that it is ISO 21001 certified.
