In short
The Art University of Isfahan began as a faculty for training specialists in the conservation of historic monuments and works, and became the Art University of Isfahan in 1379 of the Iranian calendar (2000-2001). It offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programmes in five faculties: architecture and urban design, conservation and restoration, handicrafts, visual arts, and research excellence in art and entrepreneurship. The Faculty of Handicrafts, separated from the visual arts schools in 2012, has three departments: handicrafts, carpet, and calligraphy and Persian miniature painting. Its buildings are spread across historic monuments in Isfahan, with the main address on Hakim Nezami Street.
