The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of Işık University in Istanbul presents itself as a design school, with departments including Industrial Design, Textile and Fashion Design, and Interior Architecture. The Industrial Design department was founded in 2007 as Industrial Product Design in the Faculty of Fine Arts; students work in classrooms, workshops and computer labs, on projects developed with industry and through compulsory internships. The Textile and Fashion Design programme teaches basic design, pattern, fashion, weaving and print design, as well as fashion history and historic Turkish fabrics. The university has campuses in Maslak and Şile.
