In short
İskenderun Vocational School, now part of İskenderun Technical University, began teaching in 1976 as a unit of Turkey's open higher-education institution (YAY-KUR). Its Traditional Handicrafts programme, in the Handicrafts department, trains technicians in the design and making of craft products from natural materials such as paper, fibre, leather, wood, stone and glass; the school also runs a Clothing Production Technology programme. Programmes are two-year associate degrees.
