ITECH Lyon is a private, state-recognised engineering school in Écully, near Lyon, founded in 1988 from the merger of the ESITL, a textile school created in 1883 in the tradition of Lyon silk, and the ESCEPEA, whose roots go back to the French tanning school of 1899. Its engineering degree has four majors built around polymer chemistry, including textiles (spinning, weaving and knitting, finishing, making-up) and leather, from tanning to use in shoes and leather goods. The school also runs a specialised master's in responsible luxury innovation covering cosmetics, textiles and leather.
