IUAD – Accademia della Moda is a private institution of higher education in art and design in Naples, recognised by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) within the AFAM system, with a second campus in Milan. The academy traces its origins to the 1960s and to the tailor Domenico Lettieri, whose simplified pattern-making method it still uses. In Naples it offers three-year courses in fashion design, interior design and communication design, a specialist course in accessory design, masters in bags and leather goods and in footwear design, and short courses in pattern making for clothing, bags and shoes.
