Ivanovo State Polytechnic University was formed in 2012 by merging the Ivanovo State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Ivanovo State Textile Academy. Its Institute of Textile Industry and Fashion, built on the former textile academy, traces its history to 1918 and has eight departments, including textile design, garment design, garment technology and textile product technology and design, as well as a training and production centre for garment design and technology.
