In short
The Jewelry Arts Institute in Midtown Manhattan, New York, teaches handmade jewellery with a focus on ancient techniques such as Etruscan granulation, Byzantine chain making, cloisonné enamelling and high-karat goldwork. It traces its origins to the Kulicke–Stark Academy of Jewelry Arts, which began teaching in 1974, and was reincorporated as the Jewelry Arts Institute in 1987. Instruction is individual within small classes, with no set curriculum, through semesters, one-day workshops, customised intensives and courses such as Studies in Ancient Gold.
