Jiangnan University is a university in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, directly under the Ministry of Education; it traces its origins to the Sanjiang Normal School of 1902 and took its present form in 2001 through a merger. Its School of Design, formerly the design school of Wuxi University of Light Industry, offers bachelor's majors in product design, visual communication design, environmental design, public art, fashion and apparel design, fine arts and garment design and engineering. Its School of Textile Science and Engineering, founded in 1952, teaches textile engineering and related fields.
