Kayseri University teaches crafts and design in two of its vocational schools in Kayseri. The Handicrafts Department of the Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu Vocational School, on the 15 Temmuz campus in Talas, began in 1997 with a carpet-making programme and since 2008-2009 has run the two-year Traditional Handicrafts programme. The Organised Industrial Zone Vocational School, established by the Council of Higher Education in 2023, has taught a two-year Industrial Product Design programme since 2023-2024, alongside welding and polymer technology.
