In short
Konst & Kulturakademien, a school run by Folkuniversitetet, teaches its one-year, full-time Ceramics programme in the old porcelain factory in Gustavsberg, at Odelbergs väg 1C, in renovated premises with three large kilns, a glaze laboratory, two large studios and potter's wheels. The programme combines craft and artistic and design work: students learn throwing, hand-building techniques, making plaster moulds and slip casting, glaze chemistry, glaze and decoration techniques, firing and materials, and design and produce functional ceramics, sculpture and conceptual work. It prepares students for higher studies or further training in ceramics, qualifies for student finance and is approved by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education.
