KunstModeDesign Herbststrasse is a fashion and art school in Vienna's 16th district. It offers a five-year higher school of fashion, in which students design, make and present their own collection, a fashion school with a vocational diploma, a higher school of art, a four-semester day Kolleg in fashion, design and textiles, and a six-semester evening Kolleg in jewellery design, with more than half of the hours in the studio and in jewellery craft. According to the school's history, it goes back to the k.k. Kunststickereischule (art embroidery school), founded in 1874 after the Vienna World Exhibition; later it added courses in dressmaking, tapestry restoration and weaving, and a master school for women's tailoring.
