In short
La Meridiana is an international school of ceramics founded in 1981 at Bagnano, in the countryside of Certaldo near Florence and Siena. It runs workshops for different skill levels throughout the year: one- or two-week short courses on throwing, decoration, sculpture, glazing and firing methods, and intensive two- to three-month courses such as «On Centre» that give a grounding in functional ceramics. The school invites international ceramic artists to teach and states that it works with universities in several countries.
