In short
La Reliure du Limousin is a bookbinding and document restoration workshop in Malemort, Corrèze, holding the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label and specialising since 1950 in the restoration of old documents. Its training centre, a partner of the Limousin academic apprentice training centre, prepares the CAP Arts de la reliure in one year of apprenticeship: about a quarter of the time is spent in class and three quarters in the workshop with a master craftsman, working on modern bindings and rare old books, covering sewing, leather covers and gilding. Classes have ten to twelve learners.
