In short
The Landesberufsschule für das Kunsthandwerk Gröden (provincial vocational school for artistic crafts, also called La Prufesciunela) is in Ortisei (St. Ulrich), in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, and shares its building and management with the Kunstgymnasium Cademia. It offers full-time courses of three, four or five years in two specialisations, wood sculpture and polychrome painting, gilding and decorative painting, leading to a vocational qualification, a vocational diploma or the state upper-secondary diploma; in the first year students work in the workshops of both. It also runs specialisation courses in wood sculpture for beginners and advanced students in 14-week semester blocks, and its history page traces the valley's craft teaching back to a drawing school opened in 1825.
