L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts was established in 2012 with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels to introduce the public to jewellery culture; in Paris it is housed in the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau, an eighteenth-century mansion at 16 bis boulevard Montmartre, and it also has permanent addresses in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Dubai. Its courses and workshops, open to adults and children, cover three areas: the history of jewellery, the world of gemstones and jewellery-making savoir-faire, such as grand feu enamelling. The Paris school also offers talks, free exhibitions, a library and a bookshop dedicated to jewellery.
