In short
The Liceo Artistico of Porta Romana and Sesto Fiorentino is a state art high school whose main seat is in the former royal stables of Palazzo Pitti at Piazzale Porta Romana 9 in Florence; it began in 1869 in Santa Croce as a school for wood carvers, cabinetmakers and joiners. Its design paths include goldsmithing, metals and coral (with traditional techniques such as casting, stone setting and chasing), fashion, and furniture and wood at Porta Romana, and ceramics at the associated seat in Sesto Fiorentino.
