Lycée de la Mer

In short

The Lycée de la Mer is a public lycée on the Arcachon Basin, with sites in Gujan-Mestras and Biganos, offering general, technological and vocational courses linked to the sea, including aquaculture and marine farming. Its one-year CAP in marine carpentry, open to students who already hold a first wood-trades diploma, trains boatbuilders for the construction, repair and renovation of wooden hulls, with machining, assembly, finishing and varnishing in the workshop and work in boatyards. Graduates can go on to a complementary qualification in boat interior fitting or a two-year Brevet Professionnel in naval carpentry as apprentices.
