Lycée Irène Joliot-Curie

The Lycée Irène Joliot-Curie is a vocational lycée at 9 rue Léo Lagrange in Oignies, with courses from CAP to post-baccalaureate level in electrical work, metalwork, commerce, catering and care, both at school and through apprenticeship. Its CAP in art ironwork trains pupils to make pieces in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, old and contemporary, such as stair rails, gates, furniture, decorative elements and signs. In the workshop they shape metal hot or cold by planishing, bending, repoussé, filing and sawing, and lessons in the history of art ironwork and styles, geometric drawing and art drawing complete the course.
