The Lycée Porte d'Aquitaine is a vocational school in Thiviers, in the north of the Dordogne, devoted to wood and leather trades. It offers CAPs in cabinetmaking, marquetry, wood turning, joinery, leather goods and saddlery, a Bac pro in leather trades with a saddlery option, a Bac pro in joinery and fitting, and from 2026 the new Brevet national des métiers d'art. As apprenticeships it offers Bac pros in leather goods and in upholstery and saddlery, a one-year CAP in harness making and a BTMS in contemporary furniture design and making; some CAPs are also open to adults in continuing education.
