The Lycée professionnel Desaix in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines (Puy-de-Dôme) is a small public vocational school, mostly with boarders, whose courses cover leather goods and industry (production systems maintenance, production line operation, 3D prototyping), for school pupils, apprentices and adults. Its leather stream offers the CAP in leather goods (bags, luggage and small leather goods), the vocational baccalaureate in leather trades, leather-goods option, which teaches hand skills such as stitching, splitting, dyeing and assembly together with CAD, and the BTS in fashion trades for footwear and leather goods, which trains technicians who oversee models, prototypes and production. The school belongs to three «campus des métiers et des qualifications d'excellence», including one for design and innovative materials.
