In short
The Lycée professionnel Lavoisier in Brive-la-Gaillarde combines a vocational lycée and an apprenticeship unit (UFA). One of its three fields is art cabinet-making, with a two-year CAP in cabinet-making (making and repairing furniture, veneering, quartering, assembly and finishing) and the Brevet des Métiers d'Art in cabinet-making; the other fields are vehicle maintenance and bodywork, and industrial boilermaking. Cabinet-making students have made trophies for regional prizes and, in 2022, took part in a professional residency at the Villa Medici in Rome.
