The Lycée professionnel régional Gilles Jamain is a public vocational school in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, with a fashion and embroidery stream alongside commerce and health-and-social courses. In embroidery it offers the CAP in hand and machine embroidery, the BMA (craft diploma) in embroidery and the DN MADE design degree in materials, specialising in embroidered textiles; in fashion it prepares the CAP for soft garments, the vocational baccalaureate in sewing and garment making, a one-year local course in art and fashion and a one-year CAP in general upholstery and saddlery. The school says it began as a technical college in central Rochefort in the 1950s and became a vocational lycée in 1981.
