Maine College of Art & Design is an art and design college in the Portland Arts District in Maine, which states that it has been teaching since 1882. All its undergraduate programmes are BFAs, with eight majors including ceramics and textile & fashion design, in which students create fabrics from the ground up and build work on and off the body; minors include metalsmithing & jewelry and woodworking & furniture design. The college also offers graduate programmes, and its textile and fashion students present their thesis work in an annual fashion show.
