In short
Malungs folkhögskola is a folk high school in Malung, in western Dalarna, whose profile covers nature, culture and health; the school says it started in the early twentieth century and has been run since 1947 by what is now Region Dalarna. Its craft courses are short, six-week courses eligible for student finance: textile craft with an emphasis on weaving and sustainability, a skin-sewing course (cutting, pattern alteration and hand and machine sewing, drawing on traditional folk skin sewing, with projects from a bag to a folk-costume sheepskin coat) and a basic course in two-end knitting. The school also teaches folk music and dance and outdoor life.
