In short
The Midyat Faculty of Art and Design of Mardin Artuklu University was established in Midyat by presidential decree in March 2020 and admitted its first students in 2022-2023 to its Jewellery and Gem Design department. The four-year programme combines the goldsmithing tradition with contemporary jewellery and current technology, with applied courses, internships, fairs and exhibitions, and prepares graduates to open their own studio workshops or work in the jewellery industry. The faculty building was built by the Southeastern Anatolian Exporters' Associations (GAİB).
