The Fashion Program of Marist University in Poughkeepsie, New York, part of the School of Communication and the Arts, offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising. Fashion design students learn design, textiles, draping, flat pattern making, garment construction and computer-aided design, and in their senior year design and produce an apparel collection shown at the Silver Needle Runway, the student-produced fashion show held since 1984. A dedicated Digital Arts & Fashion Building opened in January 2019, and fashion students can study at the university's campus in Florence, Italy, or spend semesters in London and Paris.
