In short

Massaro is a Paris bespoke shoemaker (bottier) founded in 1894, which made the two-tone sandal for Gabrielle Chanel in 1957 and has worked with the house ever since, joining CHANEL's Métiers d'art in 2002. In its workshops the artisans (last maker, cutter, stitcher and shoemakers) divide their time between couture creations and made-to-measure shoes for private clients; the house says a woman's model takes about thirty hours of work and a man's shoe nearly fifty. It also has a department for orthopaedic footwear. Massaro is one of the Maisons d'art resident at le19M in Paris.
