The Vocational School of Technical Sciences of Mersin University is on the Çiftlikköy campus in the Yenişehir district of Mersin. Its Handicrafts Department runs the two-year Jewellery and Jewellery Design programme, with courses in goldsmithing, gemmology and design; the programme began at the Silifke Vocational School as stone and metal working and has continued in Mersin since 1997, first as applied jewellery technology. The Department of Materials and Materials Processing Technologies, established in 2010, runs the Furniture and Decoration programme, covering wood and wood-based materials, furniture hardware, furniture design and production methods.
