In short
The Department of Industrial Design of the Middle East Technical University's Faculty of Architecture, on the Ankara campus, was approved on 8 May 1979 and began teaching in December 1979. Its four-year undergraduate programme starts with a year of basic design and continues with design studios on innovation, human-product interaction, sustainability and participatory practice, alongside courses in materials, manufacturing, ergonomics and design history; final-year graduation projects are developed with companies and shown each year in an exhibition held since 2002. The department also offers graduate programmes and a minor in industrial design.
