In short
The School of Food, Light Industry and Design of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in Ulaanbaatar took its present name in 2025; its history page traces light-industry engineering teaching at the university back to 1961. Its programmes include fashion design, garment production technology and pattern design, textile engineering, leather processing technology, wood processing technology, industrial and interior design, and food and catering technology. The school hosts a Shima Seiki knitwear design training centre opened in 2016 with Japanese investment, a clothing studies centre and the LEATHUB leather training, research and innovation centre opened in 2022.
