In short
The Department of Industrial Design of National Taipei University of Technology is in the university's design building in Taipei. It traces its origins to an industrial design programme of the former Taipei Institute of Technology, to which a furniture design group was added in 1978, and it took its present form in 1997 when the institute became a university. The department has two groups, product design and furniture and interior design, with small classes and an end-of-semester exhibition reviewed by teachers and industry experts; a woodwork centre teaches wood processing for furniture, toys and other objects.
