In short
Inner Mongolia Normal University opened in Ulanhot in 1952 and moved to Hohhot in 1954. Its School of Design, whose teaching goes back to an art section created in 1954 and an arts and crafts programme set up in 1978, offers seven undergraduate programmes, including clothing and costume design, product design and arts and crafts, and master's degrees in design. It has 56 design studios and research platforms on ethnic product design and Inner Mongolian ethnic costume.
