In short

The New Design University is a private university in St. Pölten founded in 2004 and owned by the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce and its training institute WIFI. Its bachelor programme «Design, Handwerk & materielle Kultur» (design, craft and material culture) combines product design and craft skills with business knowledge; students who have not trained in a craft take an additional course in wood or ceramics. The university also offers a postgraduate course in product design, and programmes in interior architecture, graphic and information design and design management.
