In short

NIFT Varanasi is a campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, under the Ministry of Textiles of the Government of India. It began in July 2024 in a temporary campus with three undergraduate B.Des. programmes: Fashion Design, Fashion Communication and Fashion Interiors. Construction of the main campus, on land provided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, started in January 2025; the campus currently works from the Trade Facilitation Centre at Bada Lalpur, Varanasi. The campus states that it runs craft and handloom initiatives alongside its programmes.
