In short
Ningxia Vocational and Technical University, which also operates as the Ningxia Open University, is a regional public university in Yinchuan; its vocational roots go back to 1949, it became Ningxia Vocational and Technical College in 2004 and was approved as a vocational university in 2025. It has five campuses, twelve schools and 74 bachelor's and associate programmes. Its Department of Textile and Clothing Technology runs a clothing design programme group made up of fashion and accessory design, image design and textile inspection and trade, which in 2026 reviewed its curriculum with university, industry and intangible heritage experts and runs modern apprenticeship classes with local fashion companies.
