In short

Nyköpings folkhögskola is a folk high school in central Nyköping, a short walk from the main square, run by a non-profit association. Its leather craft course, taught half time by the term over one or two terms, works with heavy vegetable-tanned leather: saddler's stitching, leather tools, dyeing, patterning and surface finishing, and repair and care of leather goods, with projects such as harness, motorcycle bags and backpacks and study visits to tanneries and a saddlery school. An advanced course introduces traditional tanning of fish skins with bark and fat, plant dyeing and finishing of the skins.
